I'm excited to announce that THE BILLIONAIRE'S BABY SOS will be released in February. Only a month away.

This book is part of an 8-book continuity series for Harlequin Romance called Larkville Legacy. When Clay Calhoun dies one of his daughters finds a letter from his FIRST WIFE, telling him she's pregnant with twins. Because they'd never met the twins and their father never spoke of them, they believe their mom hid the letter.

So we have a Texas family getting to know their 12 brother and sister, twins from New York City.

The whole series is fun. But I especially liked Matt's story. Because he was god father for his ex-wife's baby, he ends up with custody when she dies. He also has been invited to Larkville, Texas to meet his half brothers and sisters. As he deals with his ex-wife's death, getting a baby and meeting half siblings, he meets Claire who doesn't just teach him how to love baby Bella, she teaches him that life is a lot more than making money.

I think you'll really like this story!

March I'm doing CAN THIS MANUSCRIPT BE SAVED Live in the So Cal Conference. http://socalrwa.org/

And then I'm free until November...when I'm doing the Goal Setting Workshop again (I like to do this every year so I can figure out MY goals too!) for the local Sisters in Crime chapter.

I have books out in February, May and October ... or maybe November. :)

THE BILLIONAIRE'S BABY SOS (Feb)
Is there a difference between the conflicts of a single title romance and a category romance? Is there a difference between the conflicts of a long category and a short category? What purposes do conflicts serve in a category romance? Is there a way to use your conflict for more than a stumbling block for the romance? Can it also push your story forward?
Join multi-published category romance author and Entangled editor Susan Meier as she answers these questions and more in her workshop CONFLICT AND THE CATEGORY ROMANCE. See how to use banter, why we use a ‘format’ not a formula, how mining your characters’ pasts creates the richest conflicts, and learn tricks for getting emotion and “layering” into your story.
Course Content:

Good books are about people. Great books are about people in trouble. Not just external trouble, but real, gut wrenching, soul hurting trouble. Most of us can give our characters believable external struggles and even get them beyond those struggles, but what about that internal struggle? Can a leopard really change his or her spots? And if so how? What do editors and agents mean when they say your character has to grow? Learn the basis for every internal struggle and how to achieve believable character growth that can carry your whole story and give your characters a real happy ending.

About the Instructor:

Susan Meier is the author of 45 books for Harlequin and Silhouette and one of Guideposts’ Grace Chapel Inn series books, The Kindness of Strangers. Her books have been finalists for Reviewers Choice Awards, National Reader’s Choice Awards and Cataromance.com. Reviewer’s Choice Awards and nominated for Romantic Times awards. Her book Her Baby’s First Christmas won the traditional category in the 2009 More Than Magic contest. The Magic of a Family Christmas was a finalist in the Gayle Wilson Award of Excellence. Susan has given talks at RWA chapter conference, on-line workshops, and has regularly appeared in RWA chapter newsletters.

A one-time legal secretary and director of a charitable foundation, Susan Meier found her bliss when she became a full-time novelist for Harlequin. She’s visited ski lodges and candy factories for “research” and works in her pajamas. But the real joy of her job is creating stories about women for women. In her 47 published novels, she’s tackled issues like infertility, losing a child and becoming widowed, and worked through them with her characters.

Her 2011 Christmas book, KISSES ON HER CHRISTMAS LIST, is a nominee for a REVIEWER’S CHOICE AWARD and an RT 4-1/2 star top pick for December 2011. Her popular website www.susanmeier.com has recipes, workshops for writers and short stories featuring the characters in previous books. Every Monday morning she devotes her Dear Readers blog to the craft of writing.Susanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10319652591847155422noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4226398321186435574.post-22886504131928940222012-02-25T08:24:00.002-08:002012-02-29T06:55:47.308-08:00What's on Tap for 2012March 2012 CAN THIS MANUSCRIPT BE SAVED New Zealand chapter!
I'm only doing each workshop ONCE. I've given each group on exclusive for 2011. So if you miss it, you've missed it until 2012! So here are four of the five I've planned.

January:

This is the year you write that book! with Susan Meier

Dunes and Dreams RWA Chapter. Details aren't up on site yet, but I'm sure they will be soon!

http://dunesanddreams.org/writing-workshops/

Want to make 2011 the year you finally finish the novel that’s under the bed collecting dust? Or do you have a fresh, wonderful idea that you really want to see become a great book? Join Susan Meier for THIS IS THE YEAR YOU WRITE THAT BOOK and learn not only the basic crafting ins and outs of Plot, People, Polishing and Prestidigitation (tricks published authors use) but also get four lessons on the psychology of writing. The psychology of committing, drafting, pushing through the tough times and finishing. Make 2011 the year you write that book!

February

Story, Theme and Vehicle Mid Williamette Valley RWA Chapter http://www.midwillamettevalleyrwa.com/(info not up on their website yet!)

Have you ever written a book that was good, but simply didn’t seem good enough? Or one that wasn’t cohesive? Or one that should have been wonderful but seemed to fall flat? In Story, Theme and Vehicle, Susan Meier explains how knowing your book’s story type, story question, and the difference between its theme and its “vehicle” will keep your book focused. Learn the five easy steps to a synopsis and the four steps to a one-paragraph pitch.

April
http://starrwa.org/on-line-workshops/

April 4 – 29, 2011: Can This Manuscript be Saved
SUSAN MEIER IS ONLY OFFERING THIS CLASS ONCE IN 2011!
Instructor: Susan Meier
Deadline to Register: April 3, 2011

Course Content: Rejected? Can’t get an agent? Can’t sell, even though your critique partners LOVE your work? Susan Meier reviews the seven most common rejection catch phrases and explains how determining whether your problem is a story, scene or word problem, a first step on the road to recovery. She’ll shares tricks-of-the-trade to finding and fixing your errors before you submit. Following the assignments at the end of each lesson, attendees will learn how to “skim-read” their manuscripts quickly, marking specific problems with post-its. Susan also demonstrates how to use a storyboard, a list of twenty and a one-paragraph blurb to create a plan of attack for fixing your book’s trouble. She can’t revise or rewrite your manuscript for you, but with her tricks you’ll not only see how to revise the book of your heart; you’ll also see how published authors are able to write four, five and even six books a year without breaking a sweat!

August

Journey Steps.
